David Edward Hutko - Houghton Lake resorter

The Rev. Bryan Thompson will officiate the funeral service Saturday, April 6, at 11 a.m. at Christler Funeral Home, Houghton Lake Chapel. Interment will be in Roscommon Township Cemetery, Houghton Lake.Visitation is planned at the funeral home Friday, April 5, from 4 to 7 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7 p.m.He was born May 12, 1942, in Detroit, to Edward and Yvette (Berard) Hutko. He graduated from Utica High School and went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University. Mr. Hutko worked as a facilities manager for New Grace Hospital and was the building inspector in Farmington Hills for several years.He was married May 17, 1982, in Royal Oak, to Alleene M. Dunlap-McNeill. The couple moved to Houghton Lake where they owned and operated Crystal Pines Apartments for 20 years.Mr. Hutko was very active in the Houghton Lake community as a member and past worshipful master of the Masonic Lodge, past president of Houghton Lake Merchants, member and past president of the Houghton Lake Lions Club and the Houghton Lake Historical Playhouse manager for several years.Surviving Mr. Hutko are his wife of more than 36 years, Alleene M. Hutko of Roscommon; five stepsons, Greg McNeill, Daniel McNeill, Michael McNeill, William McNeill and Kevin McNeill; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; four sisters, Judy, Ann, Becky and Marcie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
